Considering that there might be surprises throughout the year... Here are the films we know are releasing in 2019 that I just can't wait for!
10. Shazam! (April 5)
Zachary Levi, is one of the most up-incoming actors of our modern-era. If you haven't seen him yet, go check out his recent performance as Benjamin in "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel." As for this film: it has that fresh, campy, 90's vibe that we've all been waiting to see from DC--something distinct and something that has personality. I can't wait to see what magic, Shazam! brings to screen.
9. Pokemon: Detective Pikachu
Nostalgia. Nostalgia. Nostalgia. I am so excited to re-live my childhood in what looks like a stunning Pokemon adventure. It's been a while since we've had an actual Pokemon film that bodes well to this global phenomenon. And with Ryan Reynolds playing Pikachu!? You better count me in! And would you look at that fur!
You better believe that as a 90's kid, I'm super stoked man!
8.Spider-Man: Far From Home
Think I'm all 'Spider-Manned' out after seeing “Into the Spider-Verse”!? Think again. The true test is how Spidey will stand after End Game, since this will be the first MCU film after the behemoth releases. Will this film set itself a part as groundbreaking, or will people be yearning for less and less Super-Hero fandom?
I believe it will be fantastic!
7. Bright Burn (May 24)
So, this is James Gunn's first film since his departure from the 'happy go-lucky' Guardians of the Galaxy. With that, here comes Bright Burn: a dark iteration and twist on the origin story of Super-Man. Expect some incredible fan-fare and possibly Easter eggs from Guardians :)
6. Toy Story 4 (June 21)
The long-anticipated Toy Story 4 is releasing this summer. We all thought that "Toy Story 3" was the end of the saga, but alas fans cried out for more! We will see Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the crew get lost, abandoned, and rejected for the last time this summer.
I can't mention this movie without saying that “Child's Play” releases the same day. I mean ain't that hilarious!
5. Pet Sematary (April 5)
Don't have a fear of furry cats and children? Well, Stephen King can pretty much make anything sound scary; and in this foreboding tale...you guessed it, furry cats and children are on the prowl. Hopefully this film is a proper remake of what King says is his most personal and scariest story.
4. Joker (October 4)
We've had Ledger, Hamill, and even Leto...has anyone prepared us for Joaquin Phoenix?! If you haven't seen his role in Prime's “You Were Never Really Here,” You should definitely check out what psychotic tone Pheonix is able to capture in this film. It surely is just the appetizer for how 'serious' he's going to get.
3. Avengers: Endgame (April 26)
How will the Avengers avenge the avengers? Try saying that ten times fast. But yeah, those Avengers really need to avenge the Avengers, and wondering how they will avenge the Avengers is really avenging in itself...okay I better stop.
I can't wait.
2. Star Wars Episode: IX (December 20)
Will J.J. Abrams make everything right? Will we have the CLEAR-CUT answers to all of our tireless questions? Will this be the satisfying end we've all waited for? And finally, will Jar-Jar make a return?
1. Us (March 22)
Jordan Peele set himself apart early as a film-making visionary with the release of his first film: "Get Out." Fans have already come up with thousands of theories for Us. Why have there been so many theories? Because Peele is just so dang good at hypnotizing his viewers!
This is my first pick because all-in-all I truly cannot wait for anything Peele touches.
Those are my picks for the Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2019! Let me know what you think!
